María Asís Olaya
García-Puente
Psychologist Psychotherapist
I’m María Olaya, a bilingual psychotherapist in Madrid.
I’m María Asís Olaya García-Puente, a bilingual psychotherapist in English, graduated in psychology from Universidad Pontificia Comillas, having combined my training in the U.S. at Boston College.
I then began my training at the Spanish Society of Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy, understanding that physical and psychological health go hand in hand. Encouraged and motivated from there, I delved into various topics, publishing works such as “Oxitocin and the Fabric of Social Relationships” and “Forgiveness and Resilience”.
I am trained in attachment and bonding, trauma and EMDR, psychosomatics, psychoanalytic psychotherapy, brief psychotherapy, and crisis intervention, among others. I continue my development in various branches and areas of psychology, understanding that eclecticism and integration offer the possibility of adapting therapies to the needs of the individuals I support.
I work in the field of psychotherapy in private practice with both adults and children and their families, always considering that what’s most important is to truly see the person in front of me and, above all, to understand their story and journey in order to provide support from an individual perspective.

Reasons to Seek Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy teaches you to reflect, understand yourself, and helps you face your current and future challenges. It guides you in the search and creation of a different perspective from which to relate to the world, others, and yourself, thus contributing to your ability to choose how to approach your life from a deeper understanding of who you are and what you need.
